πόκος, ὁ, 1) die geschorne, aber noch nicht verarbeitete Schaafwolle, das Vließ, Il. 12, 451; auch die einzelne Flocke, Soph. Trach. 675. – 2) die Schaafschur, Wollschur. – Die Form εἰς ὄνου πόκας Ar. Ran. 186, sprichwörtl., zur Eselsschur, d. i. ins Land des Nichts, welche Form auf einen nom. plur. αἱ πόκες od. πόκαι, die beide sonst nicht vorkommen, zurückzuführen ist, also als ein heteroklitischer acc. plur. zu πόκος zu betrachten; bei Zenob. 5, 38 steht übrigens in ähnl. Bdtg ὄνου πόκους ζητεῖς, ἐπὶ τῶν ἀνυπόστατα ζητούντων, vgl. die not. daselbst.
